TangoGoNow.com
Privacy Policy.
Last updated: October 27, 2026
This policy describes how TangoGoNow.com handles information through its directory, public submission forms and website features.
Directory information
The directory contains information about tango organizations, instructors, venues, events and related resources, gathered from public sources and contributions. This can include names, locations, websites and publicly listed business or organizational contact details. Published directory information can be viewed, indexed by search engines and included in database downloads.
A publicly available address may still identify a person. If a listing includes your contact details and you want them corrected or removed, use the correction process described below.
Information you submit
When you submit a listing or suggest an update, we receive the listing details, supporting source links, your explanation and any name or reply email you provide. Submissions are stored in the site's review inbox for editorial review and follow-up.
The submitter name and reply email fields are separate from the proposed public listing. They are not automatically published as listing contacts. Contact details entered in the listing's public email fields are proposed for public display if the listing is approved. Please submit only information appropriate for a public directory.
Cookies and spam protection
The submission form and private administration area use a session cookie named TGNSESSION for security, verification and sign-in. The cookie is configured as a browser-session cookie. Blocking it can prevent the submission form or administration sign-in from working.
Submission protection uses a hidden form field, elapsed-time checks and a self-hosted image or audio verification challenge. Verification state is stored in the session. The backend also uses a keyed hash derived from the request's IP address and a time window to limit repeated attempts. These controls help protect the form and site from abuse.
Hosting and technical requests
IONOS provides the site's hosting and database infrastructure. Requests to a web server include technical information such as an IP address, requested page and browser information; hosting and security logs may record this information. See IONOS's privacy information ↗ for its own services.
Page counter, media and external services
- Page-view counter: only after you allow the page-view counter, the footer requests a counter image from Hits ↗. This sends a request to that outside service, which receives connection information such as your IP address and browser information. The request is configured not to send a referrer header. Rejecting this category prevents that request.
- YouTube: documentary players load only after external media is allowed and you choose to load a player. Embedded players use YouTube's privacy-enhanced domain. Loading or using a player connects to Google's services; see the Google Privacy Policy ↗. You can instead follow the original viewing link to visit the provider directly. Music listening links open the selected provider.
- Google Translate: when you choose a language and select “Translate with Google,” the current public page opens through Google’s website-translation service in a new tab. Google receives the page URL, public search filters and connection information, and processes the page for automatic translation. This feature does not load a Google translation widget before you request a translation. Only if you allow preferences, your last selected language is saved under
tgn-languagein local storage; it does not automatically redirect you. Private administration, sign-in and submission forms do not offer this translation control. Google’s own privacy policy applies when you visit its service. - Product photographs: merchant-hosted shopping images remain unloaded until external media is allowed. Once allowed, they load directly from merchants or image providers, who receive those requests. You can follow the merchant link to see photos without enabling embedded images here. Product and store links lead to outside websites with their own privacy practices.
- Other links: directory websites, films, music services, Amazon and eBay are operated by their respective providers. Their policies apply when you visit or use their services.
Access, retention and corrections
Submission review and administration are restricted to the site's administration area. Submission and editorial records are kept to review contributions, follow up and maintain the directory; information can also remain in backups. Public listings remain available until updated or removed. This policy does not promise a fixed deletion schedule.
To request correction or removal of information in a listing, open the listing and choose “Suggest an update.” Describe the information concerned and the change requested, and include a reply email if you want a response. You can also start at the submission form. Do not include passwords, financial details or sensitive documents.
Your browser choices
You can control cookies and third-party requests through your browser settings or content-blocking tools. Some site features may stop working when their required requests are blocked. You can browse the directory without submitting a form or loading a documentary player.
Changes to this policy
This page may be updated when the site's features or information-handling practices change. The date at the top identifies the latest update.
